Menu for 5/5/14-5/11/14

I was hesitant to post another recipe last week since I've been having such trouble with the computer. I'm still putting together posts and taking pictures so as soon as I can get Aaron to transfer the photos to my flash drive I'll be able to get some new recipes up. Please don't forget about me if I don't manage to get anything up this coming week.

Speaking of this coming week, it's my birthday on Thursday. How lucky am I to get my birthday and Mother's Day in the same week? I couldn't decide what I wanted to cook for my birthday dinner since it falls on new recipe night so I went with something that Aaron has been begging me to try for months now.

I'll be attempting to duplicate Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. If it turns out well we could be able to save quite a bit of money since Wendy's is Aaron's weakness. Any time I'm too tired or lazy or busy to make dinner he suggests Wendy's and I'm pretty sure that's what he usually eats for lunch when he has time to stop.

Since I seem to prefer cookies and brownies to cake I will probably try a cookie recipe for my birthday cake. I'm torn between Butterfinger cookies (if you remember from last year my birthday cupcakes were chocolate with Butterfinger frosting) or salted caramel chocolate chip cookies. Salted caramel is one of my absolute favorite things. When I in the hospital in labor with Bailey I was begging anyone who would listen to bring me a salted caramel mocha frappuccino from Starbucks as soon as she was out of me. Hey, I was good about the whole no caffeine thing while I was pregnant. I deserved it.

My goals for the week:
1) determine exactly what it is I want for my birthday
2) somehow manage to get the living room and dining room completely spotless
3) enjoy plenty of snuggles with Bailey

It should be a good week! Here's what's happening in the kitchen.
