Catching up

Since yesterday's schedule was disrupted I had to work overtime today to catch up.  Bailey is finally back to her normal sleep routine so we were up at 9:00 today.  That meant nap time was earlier and boy did I get some work done.

I was so tired last night that I couldn't make myself clean up the kitchen so I had to do that first.  I loaded and ran the dishwasher, cleared and wiped down the counters, took the pizza dough out of the freezer to thaw, and swept and mopped.  With a toddler munching on Cheerios and dragging her sippy cup around everywhere the floor can get quite messy so we sweep twice a day usually and mop at least every other day.  The kitchen was sparkling when I finished.  I love a sparkling kitchen!

Next I moved to the dining room.  I cleaned the junk off of the table, re-stacked the papers that Bailey kept spreading all over the floor, put away the clothes that my great aunt keeps finding for Bailey at garage sales, and swept and mopped the floor.  This house has a severe lack of storage space so I always end up using the dinner table to keep things like important mail and paperwork, recipes, the diaper bag, etc...  The table still isn't cleared enough to eat at but it's getting there.

Then I dusted the book shelves and the entertainment center in the living room.  I swept and mopped the living room floor and the hallway.  (I vacuumed the rug too but I had to wait for Bailey to wake up for that.)  I emptied the trash in the bathroom and cleaned the counter and the mirror.

When I had finished all of that I sat down in the recliner with my laptop and as soon as I typed in my password I heard Bailey talking to her pony in the crib.  Oh well, the computer can always wait until bed time.

Dinner tonight was calzones.  Aaron is a very picky eater.  He does not like vegetables.  He detests salad.  After 8 1/2 years together I have learned to ignore his unhealthy eating and focus on getting a proper balance for myself and Bailey.  Aaron's calzone was filled with pepperoni and cheese.  Mine (which I shared with Bailey) was filled with some of the leftover sausage from earlier in the week, mushrooms, and bell peppers.  Bailey has an affinity for frozen frozen vegetables (you read that right, she eats them still frozen) so I gave her some frozen mixed vegetables.

Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures.  They are all taken on my iPod because something is wrong with the battery in my Canon.

I am going to attempt to organize my linen closet during Bailey's nap tomorrow.  I know it was organized about 6 months ago but Aaron has been in it since then and he has a bad habit of just throwing things anywhere in there.

Just to end with something cute, this is the little guy who kept me company in the waiting room at the vet's office yesterday.
