Mommies don't get weekends off

My daughter sleeps very late in the mornings.  I'm not sure why because she goes to bed at a decent time, but usually I can sleep in at least until 9:00.  This morning for some reason she decided to get up very early.  By 8:30 she was standing up in the crib, slapping the wall between her bedroom and ours to call attention to herself.

Usually on Saturdays my fiance will get up with her.  Since he is used to getting up very early on weekdays he is generally already up when she begins to stir.  He fixes her a bottle and shares a snack with her and plays with her blocks until I get up to make breakfast.  It's nice for me.  It seems to be my only chance to sleep in.

Today, Aaron was still asleep when Bailey woke up so I had to get up with her.  I'm not complaining... At all!  She is a joy in the mornings.  She likes to snuggle when she first wakes up so I just soak it up.  I figured since I was already up I would go ahead and start breakfast early.  (We usually eat brunch on weekends instead of breakfast.)  So I made bacon and eggs and biscuits and woke Aaron up and we ate together early!

It's close to 3:30 in the afternoon now.  Bailey has been napping for about 2 hours (which is normal for her) and I feel like I haven't stopped working since I got up!  I have spent her entire nap time cooking and washing dishes.

First I cleaned up from breakfast.  Then I started a loaf of bread to go with tonight's dinner.  I got the recipe from a blog I follow.

Once the bread was rising I got working on dinner.  We are having chicken cordon bleu casserole, a recipe I found on pinterest.  I have altered it to suit some picky tastes.  I am unexpectedly cooking for two extra, extremely hungry mouths.  I hope I have enough food for everyone.

I cooked the pasta, then the chicken, then mixed the sauce and added the ham and pasta to the sauce.  I assembled the casserole and put it in the fridge until time to leave.  The bread just finished its first rise so I shaped the loaf and put it in the pan and just as I set the timer for the second rise I heard Bailey on the monitor.  Nap time just isn't long enough some days.
