Guys, I am raising a daughter who is terrified of change.
This week I did a little spring cleaning (I know, I'm behind) on Bailey's bedroom. I packed up her outgrown clothes and stored them away (and shed a tear over how grown up my little lady is), cleaned and organized her bedroom closet and drawers, and shampooed the carpet in her room. I've been dying to rearrange her furniture for months and having everything out in the hallway it seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. All I wanted to do was switch the cubby shelf with the bed.
So once the floor was dry I put the bed along the back wall of the bedroom and the shelf under her name on the wall to the right. I transferred the plethora of stuffed animals back to their corner of the floor and called Bailey in to get ready for a nap. I was in no way prepared for her reaction to the change.
I was expecting her to be surprise. I thought she might say something like, "Oh, look!" Instead she began attempting to pull the bed back to its original position in the room crying and screaming "Oh! Put it back!" I probably should have let her cry and get it over with and then told her to take her nap anyway but I just couldn't stand to listen to her cry like that. I moved everything back and nap time started half an hour late after she had calmed down.
I spent a good bit of Friday night on Shutterfly working on Aaron's Father's Day gift. It's supposed to arrive just in time for Father's Day. I found a deal on groupon for a 20 page, 8x11, hardcover photobook and I just couldn't pass it up. Aaron doesn't have many pictures of himself with Bailey. Almost all of the pictures of the two of them are on my phone or on my computer. We've never had any photos printed so he doesn't have a hard copy either. Looking through my pictures of Bailey I realized I have far more pictures of the two of them than I had thought. I had over 100 photos to choose from! Not all of them were great shots, but enough were that the book turned out pretty darn special. I can't wait for Bailey to surprise him with it next week!
I'm thinking of starting a new feature on here. Iowa Girl Eats does a post every few weeks called Friday Favorites, Fantastical Sharing has one called Fantastical Fridays, and I think Annie's Eats calls hers Things I'm Loving Lately where they share certain things that have caught their eye recently. For Fantastical Sharing it's all food, but Iowa Girl Eats and Annie's Eats share everything from jewelry and clothing to electronic gadgets and phone apps. They also include some food too, but the point is it's not all about the food for a change.
I'm thinking of calling it Wishlist Wednesday and it will be all about the things I've found that I can't wait to try or buy. I'll include some books I want to read, knitting and crochet projects I'm dying to make, and things I've been shopping for. It might also include some recipes I would love to try but haven't had the time yet.
Let me know what you think in the comments section. If this is something you would like to see in the future please tell me. I want to post things you enjoy reading and it helps to hear your input.
