Menu for 11/4/13-11/10/13

I know I'm a couple of days late posting the menu for this week, and that I failed to post any recipes last week, but I was just so busy.  On top of all of my normal Mommy duties I also had to make this:

and these:

for a friend whose manager was retiring.  I had to plan a birthday party for this little angel:

who turned 2 on Saturday.  And I spent a huge chunk of time on this:

which when cut open looks like this:

I'm quite proud of this cake.  It took a lot of time but the effect was so worth it!  The Pinkie Pie on top of the cake alone took about 3-4 hours of work.

Bailey really enjoyed her party and everyone I invited came except for one person who was sick.  We had hot dogs and fixin's, chips, and cole slaw, and of course cake and ice cream.  Bailey got a whole stack of new clothes (season appropriate, she's finally wearing pants and long sleeves) and some pretty cool toys along with a stack of new coloring books and some new crayons.  It was a really successful and fun night!

The funniest part was when we sang happy birthday to the birthday girl.

The funny thing is this is her normal reaction to people singing to her.  She doesn't usually mind if I sing a song or two, or if I sing with the radio in the car, but when everyone sings at her she just hates it!

So, now you know how I spent my week.  The truth is that I did manage to get some other cooking done.  I just didn't have time to type up a post on anything new.  I'm hoping to have a nap time or two devoted to the blog when I can get caught up a little bit.
