Menu for 7/7/14-7/13/14

Besides being sick, last week wasn't too bad. We babysat Li'l P for a few hours on Tuesday and Wednesday. I got the kitchen and living room nice and clean. Our laundry, which is usually an all-day chore, was washed and put away before nap time on Thursday. I got to do the grocery shopping without little hands interfering (cutting my shopping time in half) and Aaron got to spend all day at home with us Friday. I love long weekends.

I have always been a cat person because my parents have always had cats, but my cousin likes both cats and dogs and has two dogs. One is, I think, a little puggle and he is getting old and grumpy, but they also have a big boxer who is just as sweet as can be. She is a good dog, comes when you call her, obeys when you give a command, and is gentle and patient with the kids.

Tuesday she even shared her doggy bed with Bailey. This kid just loves animals. I mean, I think she gets nervous when the dogs lick her, but as long as their mouths are closed Bailey will just hug and pet and cuddle and sugar the puppies.

I have a kids setting on my phone that locks Bailey out of certain apps and keeps her from deleting anything. It allows her to play some easy games, watch the videos I've taken of her, and play music from special playlists I created for her. She can also get into the camera app and look through the pictures and take some of her own. Usually when she plays with the camera I wind up with tons of pictures of the floor, her feet, her legs, the chair, the ceiling, and closeup selfies pointed straight up her nose. Tuesday she managed to get a really good one of Li'l P while I was making lunch. I noticed he was even posing for her which I thought was adorable.

I figured I would have a bunch of shots of the wall behind him or at most some of his legs but this little gem was in there too.

I also managed to get a good one of the kids playing with Uncle Z Wednesday afternoon. Bailey just adores Uncle Z. She gets so excited when I tell her we're going to see him.

And Sunday night I finally managed to get Bailey to let me put her hair in a ponytail.

As I was trying to take this picture...

She reached for some cookies she saw on top of the fridge and I ended up with this one instead. Look at that face! She's so funny!

  1. That all sound delicious. What happens if you get up and aren't in the mood for one of those things that day? Do you substitute?

Love the photos! It looks like Bailey is taking her photography talent after her mommy! Nice job, girls!

  2. Well we always have yogurt and sandwich stuff and fruit if someone decides they don't like or want what's on the menu. Sometimes I give Bailey the option of today's breakfast or tomorrow's and let her choose which one she wants. She's almost always up for eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and fruit though. If she's not interested I just give her a nutri-grain bar and hope she eats lunch. The dinner menu is pretty strict because I don't grocery shop for anything but what's on the menu but sometimes we stray and order pizza or grab a hamburger if we're out somewhere.
