Menu for 2/3/14-2/9/14

We took our first trip as a family this weekend. Sure, it was just a 6 hour car ride, a night in a hotel, and a 3 hour safety meeting for Aaron, but it was the first time in over 9 years that Aaron and I have been out of town together overnight. We've actually only stayed in a hotel 3 times since we met.

I was particularly proud of Bailey. She sat in the car just as calmly as I could have asked her to. She played with her magna doodle the whole trip, there and back. I had brought a couple of other toys because I had expected her to get bored, but she didn't even need them. In fact, she got very frustrated when I tried to trade her juice for the magna doodle.

Also, this was the first time Bailey has slept in a real bed (not a crib) since I stopped swaddling her. We put her between us in the bed and turned off the lights and television and she was asleep in less than fifteen minutes. She didn't sleep great. She is so like her daddy, trying to push me off the bed by rolling closer and closer until I have no room left. Aaron accidentally woke her up early in the morning (before 7:00) trying to turn on the television, but I was so excited by how well she did.

I don't know how you watched the Super Bowl (if you did), but I spent the evening with Admiral. We had a big sandwich, some mozzarella sticks, and puppy chow and I spent the evening watching Bailey play on the living room floor while everyone else watched the game. Sorry, but I just don't have any interest in sports. It was a pretty good evening though; a nice ending to a nice weekend.
