Menu for 12/15/14-12/21/14

Man, it's been a crazy busy weekend of baking! I got to try a new frosting technique Monday night. I made us some chocolate cupcakes with peppermint frosting and made them look kind of like starlight mints.

Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies
Peppermint Meltaways

Yaya had her cookie swap on Saturday so I made two new kinds of cookies for her on Friday (recipes to come soon). Then it was baking day with my bestest friend on Saturday. We wound up with over ten dozen cookies!

Standard Tea Cakes
Hickory Nut Tea Cakes

And today I had to make two batches of tea cakes for my great aunt to serve at her Christmas gathering. All that and I still haven't made the cookies for my family's Christmas Eve party or any to share with Aaron's family and I haven't had a chance to pass out cookies to the neighbors either. I guess this coming weekend is going to be pretty busy too.

My great aunt is always finding Bailey the cutest second-hand clothes. This little UT cheerleader skirt is her latest find and she looks precious in it!

And of course she loves snuggling with the puppy at Nana's house. She keeps curling up in the dog bed with Gracie and Gracie just loves all the attention.

Bailey had her Christmas portraits taken last week and I'll be able to pick them up sometime this week. How old are kids when they finally stop crying at their portrait sessions? Because Bailey has thrown a horrible fit at her last three sessions and they only got 6 good shots of her not crying (and those were thanks to a handful of jellybeans and a fantastic photographer finally making her laugh). It doesn't matter though because we did get some good ones and she looked so beautiful in her dress.

Aunt Anna always puts together a fantastic Christmas gift for Bailey. This year Bailey got a new pair of fuzzy boots, some clothes, and a huge box of crayons to go with the new coloring books. She wrapped everything separately so that Bailey could have some fun unwrapping the gifts. I'm telling you guys, I have the bestest bestest friend ever!

So obviously I'm not ready for Christmas yet but I still have over a week left, right? Here's the plan for this week.
