Menu for 4/15/13-4/21/13

I spent part of yesterday at my best friend's house for her cousin's wedding shower.  I provided some of the food for it as well.  I made tea cakes and petit fours since it was a tea party.

The tea cakes are a family recipe.  I will be sharing them eventually.  The petit fours were especially simple.  I did have some complications but they were caused by time constraints and not by the instructions.

I made a cream cheese pound cake on Friday and let it rest.  Then I cut thin slices of the cake and cut squares out of the slices.  I made a batch of whipped vanilla buttercream and layered the cake squares with buttercream and then let them set in the fridge.

About an hour before I left for the shower I melted some vanilla candy melts and dipped the petit fours.  I let them set up and then packed them up and headed out.

They looked so lovely on the table.  I wish I had a picture of the whole table, but I didn't think about it.

I'm late posting the weekly menu.  I had to do a little reorganizing with it to account for dinner at my house Tuesday instead of at Yaya's house.  My brother requested calzones which were supposed to be Monday's dinner so I just pushed it to Tuesday and added our missed meal from last week for Monday night.
